I really hate picking on someone who is losing it, but it needs to be discussed. Off of Yahoo News:

A former Canadian defense minister is demanding governments worldwide disclose and use secret alien technologies obtained in alleged UFO crashes to stem climate change, a local paper said Wednesday.

"I would like to see what (alien) technology there might be that could eliminate the burning of fossil fuels within a generation ... that could be a way to save our planet," Paul Hellyer, 83, told the Ottawa Citizen.

Alien spacecrafts would have traveled vast distances to reach Earth, and so must be equipped with advanced propulsion systems or used exceptional fuels, he told the newspaper.

Quite frankly, I doubt that aliens have been visiting our planet, top secret facilities and conspiracy theorists aside, the basic theory is that any race capable of interstellar travel would have fully populated the galaxy, including the Earth, by now.

For the sake of argument, though, let's suppose there have been such visitors, what could we learn that could forestall or halt the Earth's current climate warming trend? Zero! Why? Because the warming trend is part of the Earth's natural cycle and has been going on.

On the flipside, if there really are alien ships that have crashed here on Earth, then the technology, once it is deciphered, could be leveraged to improve energy development, most likely nuclear energy, as well as give insight on space travel. Admittedly, that would be cool.
