Chavez Threatens Economic War With World

February 11th, 2008 | by Sqotty |

Comrade Chavez, Dictator of Venezuela, is once again spewing forth his venom against the United States. After Chavez nationalized (fancy word for stealing) Venezuela’s oil industry last year, Exxon Mobil has taken legal action in the theft of their assets in a multibillion dollar oil project by Venbezuela in courts located within the U.S., U.K. and The Netherlands. Some $12 billion in assets have been frozen by an injunction issued by a court in the U.K.

From FoxNews:

“The outlaws of Exxon Mobil will never again rob us,” Chavez said, saying the Irving, Texas-based oil major acts in concert with Washington and is part of corporate “worldwide mafias.”

Let’s see if I have this right. Chavez confiscates billions of dollars of Exxon Mobil assets without just compensation; Exxon Mobil seeks redress for this theft in the courts of various nations and Exxon is the outlaw?

“If the economic war continues against Venezuela, the price of oil is going to reach $200 (a barrel) and Venezuela will join the economic war,” Chavez said. “And more than one country is willing to accompany us in the economic war.”

If there is an “economic war against Venezuela”, then Chavez started it by stealing billions of dollars of corporate assets. Other than Iran, whose oil I believe is under an embargo, and Cuba, who’s going to join you war against the “worldwide mafias”?

When will the people of Venezuela wake up and realize they have given unlimited power to an idiot?
