Carbon Belch Day

Sometimes I think I should set up a “just for fun” category. Maybe one day I will.

Grassfire.org, the conservative grassroots group, is sponsoring a “Carbon Belch Day” to help increase awareness of the “Global Warming” agenda on our rights, as well as on our environment.

Global Warming fanatics, as defined by the disciples of Al Gore, worship at the altar of the Boracle and claim that the recent warming trend is due to Man’s incessant use of carbon based fuels, most notably that liquid black gold known as oil.

Carbon Belch Day is an “turn on your lights and take a drive” event, encouraging people to use more power than they normally would. The date of the event is June 12th. On their website they have a petition and a carbon belch calculator so you can determine how much of an increase you are having. It would be nice to attain a footprint equal to such environmental hacks as Al “Carbon Bigfoot” Gore, or any of the Hippie-crits like John Travolta or Madonna. It is also a slap in the face of Barack “You Can’t Drive Your SUVs” Obama with his recent comments that Americans can’t continue to live as we please, whether we’re talking burning gasoline or eating that nice, juicy, 10 ounce Filet Mignon steak (make mine medium rare).

Of course I intend to do my part on Carbon Belch Day by doing what I can to increase my carbon footprint. I’m still going to recycle, but I can certainly leave a few extra lights on in the house. I have also sent them a recommendation on tuning their calculator to include number of computers left powered on and number of lights. Maybe differentiating between incandescent and fluorescent (I have a mix of both).

Normally I am not in favor of wasting energy, but this is one time I can make an exception, and maybe the lefties trying to control our lives will get the message, or at least get the bright idea that nuclear energy and oil aren’t the great evils that they want us to believe.
