Reimer Moonbats On Palin
September 2nd, 2008 | by Sqotty |The Moonbats of the Left are out in full force on the campaign trail. I am not sure where to start, so I think we’ll hit on a column on Baltimore.com first, as it is in some ways the most loopy, but not quite. Susan Reimer writes:
John McCain picked Sarah Palin, governor of Alaska and mother of five, to be his running mate to woo women like me.
He seems to think that my girlfriends and I are so disappointed that an utterly qualified woman is not going to be president that we will jump at the chance to vote for an utterly unqualified woman for vice president.
Is Hillary more experienced than Sarah Palin? Maybe. Maybe not. Hillary certainly lacks the integrity that Palin has displayed. Palin has more years in executive office than Obama has (which is a total of zero minutes, let alone years). Palin is governor of the only state bordered by two countries, and does not share a border with the CONUS. She has had to detail directly with both the Soviets and the Canadians. She has gone against the grain (and the Republican political machine in Alaska) and come out on top. so, what is wrong with here?
Does McCain think we will be so grateful for a skirt on the ticket that we won’t notice that she’s anti-abortion, a member of the NRA and thinks creationism should be taught alongside evolution?
His selection of Sarah Palin is insulting on so many levels that I am starting to feel like the Geico caveman.
Actually, Susan, the correct term is Pro-Life, not anti-abortion. I don’t know where she is on creationism, or intelligent design, but the last I checked evolution is still only a theory, and one that is impossible to prove as being valid. She is a Christian, a mother of a child that most women like Michelle Obama would have aborted, has shown great leadership in Alaska (whereas the only leadership Obama has shown is his choice in recreational substances), has an independent streak that just won’t quit (beauty queen and hunter…how’s that for breaking stereotypes?). What does Reimer rant on about?
You want to look good to the evangelicals? Choose a running mate with a Down syndrome child.
Reimer also seems to expect Palin to march her baby around the campaign trail. Quite frankly, I find Reimer’s attitude to be vulgar. But that’s the Left for you.
Palin’s personal story is very compelling, but it reads more like a movie pitch than a resume for national leadership.
Champion high school athlete, beauty queen. Married to her high school sweetheart. Car-pooling supermom who went from PTA activist to mayor of her tiny (population 9,000) Alaskan town.
Fisherman, sportswoman, hunter. Speaks truth to power in a state corrupted by oil. Has a son headed to Iraq. A woman who made the decision to carry to term a baby she knew to be developmentally disabled.
I don’t know about a movie pitch, but this looks like a pretty good resume to me, especially when compared to who the Democrats have chosen to be their Presidential Candidate, Barack Obama. Obama won his U.S. Senate seat with about 60% of the vote, and that was running against NOBODY. He spent his youth doing drugs; then the years between college and law school spreading socialism. He hangs out with terrorists and calls them mainstream. He was aided in the purchase of his mansion by a guy recently convicted on felony corruption charges (Tony Rezko!). Obama has also offered to meet with the dictators like Ahmadinejad without preconditions. Palin has cut taxes in Alaska, Obama plans to raise taxes on all working Americans. Palin has gone against the status-quo in Alaska; Obama intends to maintain the status-quo on Social Security. And when you compare Palin to Biden, it gets even better: Biden has no executive branch experience, used multiple draft deferments to avoid Vietnam, and managed to get himself listed as 1-Y due to asthma, despite being very athletic and playing sports, including football. And, of course, Biden represents the same-old Leftist agenda, much like Obama.
The fact that Palin is no Hillary (I remember going duck hunting with my rifle) Clinton is a fact that should be celebrated, not criticized.
Reimer is definitely deserving a Moonbat Award for this column, so go out and read the whole thing, and see why the rabid left are going crazy over McCain’s pick for veep. If they hate her so much, then she has got to be a darn good choice.
