Victory vs. Surrender Rally

It looks like Bill and I, and the rest of the Support the Troops folks, got out of the downtown area just before things turned into a war zone. I find it ironic that “anti-war” protestors, as they call themselves, would create a war zone in down town St. Paul. But when you think of this as a pro-terrorist protest, it makes sense. Their chants during the parade included “this is what democracy looks like.” This is how they display it later on.

From FoxNews:

A protest near the site of the Republican National Convention gave way to violence Monday as demonstrators attacked members of the Connecticut delegation, smashed windows, slashed car tires and threw bottles during an anti-war march, St. Paul police said.

This is a very strange and warped view of democracy and free speech in action. Attacking a convention delegation, pushing a trash bin, on fire, into a police car, smashing windows, slashing tires. I call that terrorism.

The Star Tribune has a photo gallery, including a very good shot of this democracy in action as these hoodlums smash a plate-glass window.

I will say that most of the protestors were peaceful and courteous. The ones that turned St. Paul into a war zone were a minority; a very vocal minority that was out looking for trouble, and they found it.

Kudos to law enforcement and Guardsmen brought in to manage crowd control and put down the violence.

Here’ are some photos from yesterday.
