Rangel Calls Palin Disabled
September 20th, 2008 | by Sqotty |There is a reason why the Democratic Party is the party of hate these days. Congressman Charles Rangel has taken the attacks against Sarah Palin to a new level of basement politics when he sated in an interview that she is disabled.
From WCBSTV:
The question was simple: Why are the Democrats so afraid of Palin and her popularity?
The answer was astonishing.
“You got to be kind to the disabled,” Rangel said.
That’s right. The chairman of the powerful House Ways & Means Committee called Palin disabled — even when CBS 2 HD called him on it.
CBS 2 HD: “You got to be kind to the disabled?”
Rangel: “Yes.”
CBS 2 HD: “She’s disabled?”
Rangel: “There’s no question about it politically. It’s a nightmare to think that a person’s foreign policy is based on their ability to look at Russia from where they live.”
What he is saying is that she is popular because she is disabled, then he attempts to soften it by asserting Palin would be a “nightmare” due to her lack of foreign policy experience. Remember that Obama’s claim to foreign policy “experience” is having lived in Indonesia for a few years in his childhood, and going to Kenya to visit family. Wow! That’s experience. Or is it also a nightmare?
Yes, Sarah Palin is popular, very popular. The Left hate and fear her so much that they are doing the worst sort of mean and filthy politics to bring her down. But that’s how the hard-Left Democrats play it. They are quivering in their boots in fear of Sarah because she may well have just clinched the election for McCain, and they don’t like that one bit.
Rangel, the man in Congress who wants to fully reinstate the draft, released a statement claiming that “disabled” was not the word he meant to use. But he didn’t use the word “disabled” once, but twice during the interview. Whether or not this was a shot at Palin having a child with Downs syndrome is debatable. I think it was just a nasty attack.
By the way, someone needs to remind Rangel that his country had a president who was disabled at one time. FDR, and he won the election four times.

One Response to “Rangel Calls Palin Disabled”

I think the initial question asked doesn’t really portray a valid question to anyone. It is short and non-descriptive, but it also assumes two things right off the bat:
#1 Democrats are afraid of Palin. That’s kind of a quick judgement since fear or hate is generally not well directed against someone that is so unknown. It would definately be unfare to be afraid or hateful toward someone you don’t know in my opinion.
#2 To say Palin is SO popular would be the same argument used to discredit Obama for being a celebrity wouldn’t it? “How dare they be popular and or or a celebratory status” is a foolish criteria to rate a candidate for office. An unpopular person would generally lose a vote since they don’t have the ‘populous’ behind them.
But I don’t think any of your direct conclusions can be drawn with one persons off the cuff remarks. I know you don’t think they should, but I am impressed with your quick attempt to make a point with so little basis.
