Hollywood Moonbats the Emmies

September 22nd, 2008 | by Sqotty |

I only caught a small chunk of last night’s Emmy Awards, but what I saw, and have since read in the news, shows exactly why these people should stick to making films rather than entering the political dialogue.

I am harvesting these quotes from Variety.com:

“The election between Jefferson and Adams was filled with innuendo, lies, a bitter partisan press and disinformation,” said Tom Hanks, whose Playtone shingle produced “John Adams.” “How great we’ve come so far since then.”

This is one I saw during the broadcast. Hanks is a talented actor and filmmaker, but does he know the difference between facts and fancy when it comes to the current campaign? Hanks is an out-spoken Obama supporter, so this dig is obviously directed at McCain. Let’s see, Obama has played the race card in at least three speeches, asserting that the GOP will try and scare voters away from him because he is black, yet that has not happened. Obama has used video clips from ads circulated by non-partisan groups in a recent attack ad against McCain, falsely claiming that they came from McCain. Obama launched his political career in the home of Weather Underground terrorists Billy Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn.

He is right that in his snide comment that “how great we’ve come so far since then,” but he is off-target when it comes to who this dig is aimed at.

Then we get this from Laura Linney:

“John Adams” star Laura Linney, who won for lead actress in a mini or movie, threw some support toward Obama, although not by name. Referencing recent Republican attacks on Obama’s stint as a community organizer, Linney said the miniseries made her “so grateful and thankful for the community organizers that helped form our country.”

Okay, Obama was a community organizer is Chicago, an area that Obama has claimed to be a very rough neighborhood (and a good place to connect for illegal drugs). That’s nice. Community organizers have done great things for this country and the communities they serve. Like John McCain, community organizer in the Hanoi Hilton POW camp. There are many stories circulating of the things he did to keep the spirits of other POWs up. And, let’s face it, that was a real tough neighborhood to be a community organizer in.

But Linney, another Obama supporter, isn’t referring to McCain and his role as community organizer. Maybe she thinks the Weather Underground was also made up of community organizers. After all, they were a community of sorts, and they were organized.

Frankly, I am offended that these awards programs have become nothing more than Democrat love fests, and providing a free-form platform to push a one-sided political agenda. The producers should have the male equipment to tell these Leftist sycophants to keep the politics out of the awards ceremonies. It is not the place for such, especially since it is so one-sided.
