The Obamazone
October 24th, 2008 | by Sqotty |I ran across a letter to the editor on the Berkeley Daily Moonbat that attempted to paint a Serlingesq scenario of a future America under President Palin. I figure that this needs a response, one I doubt the Berkeley Daily Moonbat will publish. In keeping with the theme:
Imagine if you will: President Barack Obama, an inexperienced legislator from Illinois, whose main accomplishmentin the U.S. Senate, side from dozens of “present” votes, was to help a “google” bill on government transparency move through Congress. Soon after his inauguration, he implements a plan to increase taxes on businesses and working Americans alike in order to usher in a new era of Socialistic Utopia. Unemployment skyrockets as businesses reduce output to match the reduced purchasing power of Americans. Government, under President Obama, spreads the wealth around, beginning with Congress and high-level bureaucrats. The unemployment rate increases as the economy constricts, reducing tax revenues as Obama continues to escalate taxation to make up the short fall. Consumer prices, unemployment, and poverty continue to increase as a vicious cycle of increased taxation continues.
Imagine paying $10 per gallon for gasoline, just so you can go to work at a job that no longer covers the bills due to increased taxation.
Imagine an American population, disarmed by the new Socialist regime, pushed further into government servitude through heavy taxation, and a lack of will to defend their Constitutional and God-given Rights.
Imagine a land where to speak out in dissent is not only deemed “unpatriotic”, but is considered racist and could cause the dissenter to be jailed.
Imagine an Iraq, after the U.S. pullout ordered by President Obama, now governed by Iranian backed Mullahs like Muqtada al-Sadr. Mahdi Army death squads, now encouraged, cause the murder of those who oppose the new totalitarian regime. American troops, contrary to campaign promises, do not return to Iraq to intervene.
There is a stop sign up ahead. You are entering the Obama Zone.
Some of these predictions may be far-fetched, and they sound it, too. Some of them, sadly, may be all too accurate. The greatest fear, though, is to have all of them proved true and accurate.
