Where is Reagan Now?
November 5th, 2008 | by Sqotty |After the Obama electoral victory, it is clear that the Republican Party has lost its way. McCain is a good man, and Sarah Palin was a brilliant choice as running mate. But it wasn’t enough to overcome Obama. America is in for a rough time as the Presidency will be controlled by hard-Left Marxists Democrats in the form of Obama and Biden. Congress is overwhelmingly controlled by Democrats, many of whom are, at the very least, seriously Left leaning Liberals. Not all of them are Marxists. And none so clearly so than Barack Obama.
Republicans lost. And not because of third party foils like Ross Perot in ‘92. The third party candidates pulled overwhelming from Obama, not McCain, with candidates like Nader and “Assault and Battery” McKinney. The few votes that were drawn away from McCain were a drop in the proverbial bucket; insignificant in scope. Even if McCain had those votes, he still would have lost.
There is no telling if Romney would have faired better. Doubtful as he was having difficulty energizing the Conservative base, just as McCain did. I know too many people who struggled with “pulling the lever” for McCain, but his selection of Palin, and the fear of the damage Obama will do to this country helped overcome that struggle. But not enough.
How much did corruption in the electoral process play is also open to debate. Dozens of Obama campaign workers violated election laws in numerous states, especially critical swing states, by voting in states that they have no intention to remain in after the election.
There was also the incident in Philadelphia where a nightstick wielding Black Panther was intimidating voters, especially those who may not agree with his choice of president. How much impact did that have? Were there similar incidents around the country? Does it matter?
Okay, yes it matters, but more for the future than what has so recently transpired. Do we really want armed hoodlums hanging polling places on election day, tapping their hand with a nightstick in threatening and provocative fashion? I hope not.
What matters more is what the GOP will do, beginning today. What will become of the conservative movement? Will we be able to find another Ronald Reagan to overcome Obama in 2012? And, if so, who will that be?
Will those Republicans still in Congress finally, as a whole (for a few do), embrace true conservative values and work diligently to thwart the oncoming Marxist tsunami? One can only hope that they will. Whereas if they come together with the Democrats and sing “Kumbaya”, then we can kiss the last vestiges of American Liberty goodbye, and watch it end up on the ash heap of history, right next to Soviet Communism. Although we are seeing a resurgence of Soviet Marxism again in Russia.
It will be a rough four years for the American economy and the American worker as we will see taxes rise, especially corporate taxes (which in turn forces a rise in consumer prices); new gun control laws that will make the ’90s assault gun ban look mild; continued proliferation of nuclear weapons in countries hostile to the United States, in countries like Iran, just as we saw happen with North Korea thanks to Jimmy Carter who brokered that deal, and the Clintons, who signed off on it; energy prices will skyrocket as Obama pushes severe cap and trade policies on coal and natural gas using power plants, all in the name of fighting global warming, the biggest fraud forced on the world by the Left; and surrender and capitulation to terrorists and tyrants around the world. In that respect Obama will be an American Neville Chamberlain.
This was a disastrous election, not just for Republicans, but for America. Our only hope now is that the GOP will finally extract its head from the rhino’s butt and get serious about conservative values and preserving American Liberty, and that they do so before it is too late. God help us if they don’t. ‘Cause nobody else will.

One Response to “Where is Reagan Now?”

Ron Paul was the only intelligent choice for the Republicans and could have beat Obama. The Republican party shot itself in the foot. McCain wants to grant amnesty to 12 million lawbreakers - illegal aliens. Obviously all during his campaign he showed himself as a political opportunist
