Auction House Does Soldier Good
June 16th, 2009 | by Sqotty |When someone does a good deed, it is only right that it is acknowledged. In the case of Heritage Auction Galleries of Dallas, it is only fitting that their act of good will be publicly noted.
The story involves a National Guard captain preparing to be deployed (second tour) to Iraq and a very rare book that Heritage will be auctioning for Capt. Nathan Harlan. The book is volume one of The Federalist”, published 1788. It is a rare first edition.
The good deed is that Heritage Auction Galleries is waiving their normal fee of 20% commission for the sale, so that Capt. Harlan will receive all of the proceeds from the sale. My hat’s off to you! Check out the full story on yahoo.
And I wish Capt. Harlan well in his upcoming deployment and a safe tour of duty.
