Bloomberg Turns Hard Left
October 6th, 2009 | by Sqotty |Mayor Michael Bloomberg of New York is working hard to eanr the coveted Moonbat Award with his take on the increased surveillance in his city.
From the New York Times:
Asked Sunday about criticism of the increased surveillance, Mr. Bloomberg said: “We live in a world where we have to have a balance. We can’t just say everybody can go everyplace and do anything they want.”
It is the last sentence in his statement that is putting him on the path of this award: “We can’t just say everybody can go everyplace and do anything they want.” Think about it. As long as what we are doing isn’t illegal, in a free society (which this used to be) we should be able to go anyplace and do anything we want. And do so without the government monitoring us 24/7. Unless you are in New York, in which case, forget about it. Papers, please? Smile for die camera!
Am I glad that I don’t live in New York! The question is, why are New Yorkers putting up with this kind of surveillance?
And this guy used to be a Republican? Okay, I admit it. He was a Republican in name only, and only for as long as it was politically convenient for him. He really is a hard-core Leftist who sorely wants to be a Democrat again.
In the mean time, congratulations to the Moonbat of New York City, Michael Bloomberg. You are the latest winner of the Moonbat Award.
