Well, it's over. MarsCon 2009 has happened and we're now back at home. We had a good time.
I've posted a full report on the Quadrant Website, including photos. Hopefully I'll be able to get the video edited over the next few days, but am not counting on it. Now all ...

Saturday is done and over. It was a wild evening, as well as a fun filled day.
Steampunk is big here. Let me rephrase: it's BIG! There is a very active steampunk community in the area and they fielded quite a few costumed steampunkers and had a party in the convention ...

We made it! Sue, Anna and I made it to OryCon. We're now into the second day, and this is proving to be one heckuva good con. Registration said they were expecting about 1500 people. With the size of the hotel, it is not very crowded, which is nice when ...

I went to the Support the Troops rally, which was slated as a counter to the pro-terrorist parade taking place in St. Paul today. Much fun was had. Many of the participants were Gold Star Parents, so emotions were rather high, but in a positive fashion. These are people who ...

Convergence 2008 was a wild, fun, and, at times exasperating time. Most of the time it was a very up convention, but they did run into some problems, some of which can be attributed to growing pains. Not surprising as the Con grew by about 400 attendees over last year. ...

We're finally back from Convergence. It was a wild, and at many times, frustrating event this year. Here is the first video clip from the con that I have been able to process for the heckuvit. It's me, Sqotty MacKlingon, with the two guys dressed up as Captain Kirk (Earl ...

ConSarnit 1 proved to a successful event this past Saturday, with about twenty fans of the Western Film in attendance. The convention was patterned using the same model that has been used for fan-run Science Fiction conventions for decades. The Con-Com was not expecting a large turnout for their first ...

See original post as well.
Silicon 2007 was a big success with attendance easily topping last year. According to a staffer I spoke to, there were over 1,000 attendees, including staff, volunteers (can't run a con with out 'em) guests and kids in tow.
Silicon 2007 also hit an important milestone ...

We are two-thirds of the way through Silicon 2007 and this is the first opportunity I have had to post. It's been that crazy of a week (and most of it without Internet access).
Silicon has a plethora of guests, predominantly from the direct to video horror film industry. This also ...

Saturday night was my high school reunion. The turnout, for me, was a bit of a disappointment. This was the reunion for the Class of '77 McLane Highlanders. All told, there were about a hundred people in attendance, including spouses. A lot of people that I was looking ...

MarsCon was well attended, despite the winter storms that hit the region on Thursday and Friday, with 675 people in attendance. Although down a bit from last year due to snows and bad driving conditions, the con was an overwhelming success.
The Rakehell was very well represented, with most of ...
