MarsCon Video Editing

I’ve been trying to get my video from MarsCon 2008 and ran into a problem with one of the clips having the audio becoming progressively out of sync with the video. It turns out that the problem was caused by an occasional dropped frame in the video throwing the audio out of sync. The problem was a bit of a pain to track down as when I played the raw footage through a standard viewer it played fine; it only showed up when loaded into a video editor. What was really bizarre is that when the Windows Movie Maker imported the footage, it was upside down. I found an application that checks for dropped frames and fills in a duplicate frame to keep the audio in sync. Worked pretty good. I know have a final cut of the MarsCon video completed for burning to DVD, and plan on getting it out to the British Invasion somehow. I should have a version suitable for releasing to the “wild’ (youtube) in a couple of days.
